BMX Bikes
Every kid owned at BMX bike at one stage or another. These were awesome pieces of machinery that allowed a small kid to basically do anything in the world. If we tried hard enough, I’m sure we could have even made them fly. Although saying that, on several occasions I did managed to make it fly, and usually resulted in me running crying home to mummy with a grazed knee.
It provided freedom to anyone that owned one. Looking back on how far I actually rode my BMX bike makes me feel tired now just thinking about it. What makes it even worse is that they didn’t have any gears. How on earth could anyone go any distance with something that only had one gear, and what at the time seemed like such a stunning speed.
As I grew older, I was bought a racer. Although I could achieve greater speeds, I was very disappointed in the fact that jumping off of high places buckled the wheels. I’m sorry, but the speed or a racer, could never compare to jumping off of a sea wall and flying over the handlebars when gravity decided to make an appearance.
I loved my BMX.
