Wizbit
Ha ha this-a-way, ha ha that-a-way, ha ha this-a-way, my oh my. Now there’s some carefully thought out lyrics.
Ah yes, Wizbit, we all remember this one, don’t we? Oh come on, big yellow cone thing with a freaky voice, Paul Daniels doing what Paul Daniels does (I’ll let you make your own mind up about that), and Debbie running around half naked. Ring any bells yet?
Wizbit is a big yellow cone thing that I think is suppose to be a wizards hat. Anyway, he comes from the planet WOW (World of Wizards) and he’s visiting Earth for a year and a day.
Hold it! Hold it! Keep that thought. He’s visiting Earth right? Earth as in Earth? Earth as in, errr, here? OK, I’m confused for a very good reason here. You see, Mr. Wizbit esq is hanging out is a place called Puzzleopolous, which we have just been informed is somewhere on Earth.
Alright, here’s my problem. We have a six-foot rabbit called Woolie. We have huge giant sponge balls that bonce around all day. We have decks of cards that wander around the place. And to top things we have a psychopathic bloke who lives in a giant fist in the sky. Do you see where I’m coming from on this? Now, either I haven’t travelled the world as much as I should, or someone has been smoking something they shouldn’t, if you get my drift.
Anyway, that aside, Wizbit used to be quite an entertaining programme. Ignore the irritations of the poor over-acting that you usually find in kids shows (hint to the actors, the kids are laughing at you, not with you), and you have the occasional puzzle chucked in that I used to love trying to solve.
You see, at the boundary of Puzzleopolous is the Puzzle Gate. In order for anyone to enter, they have to solve the puzzle of the day. Great idea, but not much cop really if the place catches on fire and the fire brigade needs to get there in a hurry.
