In order to offer a faster and more reliable service, 80sNostalgia.com chat is now run on an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) server.
If you've never used IRC before and plan to camp out here frequently it may be worth you reading up on how to use IRC to it's fullest extent.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ANYONE CONNECTING AND NOT FAMILIAR WITH IRC

Anyone who connects to the #80sNostalgia channel will see a user called ChannelBot. This is not actually a real person, but is what's called a Bot. Please do not try talking to it. Please do not try seducing it. Please do not try selling it cheaper long distance calls. It will not respond. It is purely there to look after the channel, and clean up after the regular mob has trashed the place (particularly if someone slips some lime into Mr. Spoons' drink).

There are two ways to connect to the IRC server..

Method #1
Quick and Simple
The quick and simple method is to simply plonk a name in the Nickname box below and then click Connect.
This will launch a simple java-based IRC client to enable you to connect to the server. It's nothing special, but it'll do the trick. If you're planning to be a regular squatter then it is recommended that you download a proper IRC client (see method #2)

Please remember to change the default Guest nickname to something a bit more descriptive

No spaces are allowed in Nicknames.
Method #2
Recommended
The recommended method is to download a proper IRC client, such as mIRC.
Once you have a IRC client installed, connect to the #80sNostalgia channel by using the following settings:

Server:irc.80snostalgia.com
Port:6667
Channel:#80sNostalgia




This site has been designed for Micro$soft Internet Explorer and Nutscrape Navigator version 4 and above browsers, with a minimum resolution of 800x600. For best results, always cook from frozen.
